Aereus Technologies
Antimicrobial copper-nickel alloy as a hot sprayed-on coating on typical surfaces such as toilet seats, grab bars, bed rails, light switch covers and door hardware. All products meet Health Canada MPRA claims for bacteria kills. Aereus’ antimicrobial solutions provide a one-time copper-based application on surfaces that works 24×7, never wears off, and kills 99.9% of bacteria in 2 hours. Used previously at VGH in the Bone Marrow Transplant unit on several patient care area surfaces

Aegis Microbe Shield
The active ingredient in AEGIS® forms a protective coating that can molecularly bond with products upon application. Bacteria are attracted to the coating’s positive charge, and upon coming into contact with the treated surface, they quickly die. When applied to surfaces, AEGIS forms a colorless, odorless, positively charged polymer that attracts, then electrocutes and ruptures, a microbe’s negatively charged cell membrane. Product has a Health Canada PMRA designation. Generally this product is known as an organosilane.
